poetry, "the dream"
I dreamt I was in a room crowded with familiar faces.Full of Family, Loved ones, and Friends I held dear.
They were energetic, bustling, and full of life,
Talking amongst themselves, enjoying each others company.
Suddenly I was struck blind, and deafened to their sound.
I stumbled around in the dark, looking for the door.
Crying out that I couldn't see, yet nobody responded.
Reaching out to those around me, but I could feel nothing.
I felt something against me, some unrecognizable presence.
And feeling of warmth and comfort had washed over me.
I reached out to them, desperate for reprieve and aid.
Eventually they too gave way and dissolved into nothing.
When I finally found the door and opened it,
A bright light shined into the once vibrant room,
But behind me I now saw nothing but emptiness.
Were once was full of life was now but a void
