edited poster originally from the UK Home office for “asylum seeker education” for not photographing or filming people in the public it now says top right corner: consequences title: do not photograph or film body: in the uk, you should not take pictures or videos. this includes taking pictures or videos in public spaces, like streets or parks, or in private spaces, like at home. Sharing pictures or videos is a serious crime - if you do these things, you could be arsed by the police - if someone has taken or shared images, you can report this to the police - non-emergency: 1 - in an emergency: 9

uk politics, home office, asylum seekers fact: the home office releases posters and materials informing asymlum seekers what are acceptable behaviours in the uk

opinion: they are highly meme-able, while also being bad. yes, some cultures do have differences compared to the uk, but these materials are written with an unnecessary threatening tone, while being oblivious on the actual state of this country. there’s a whole poster about men and women having equal rights and yeah i have not opened that can of worms just yet

re: uk politics, home office, asylum seekers @kuriko the integration test im taking for my german A2 class has a lot of very similar vibes in it and it comes across as very condescending and very pointed and intentional in its wording.
