Since I have the Hori Super Gameboy Commander controller for my SNES, I figured I'd import their Gameboy Player equivalent for the GameCube!
It feels REALLY GOOD to use, and also, in my typical manner I've done some shenanigans with it, so expect me to post more about this guy!

you'd probably like the custom controllers i made. they use a board by raphnet to convert SNES controllers into working on the gamecube .
I made two of them in different cable lengths (~1m and 3m), and the black shell parts came from busted retro-bit duo controllers.

@Jenetrix you're right, I do like that! Does the new drop-in board have connection points for rumble motors if you want?
