Because apparently that's the only way to make anyone use something other than she/her:

effective immediately she/her is discouraged for ncl unless used in a way one might talk about equipment (like a ship) in

EXAMPLES:

"she's unsteady after what she went through last night": ✅, could plausibly be about a piece of equipment

"that's ncl, I've known her for a while": ❌, this is clearly she/her as used for a person

@ncl we usually default to 'it' for anyone/anything that uses that, which leads to sometimes using it for those that do not on accident neofox_googly
