i do find it kinda funny that the vast majority of philosophers i really really fuckin hate and often cite as "trying to justify horrors, problematic systems, and problematic social structures" are almost always cis white straight men from affluent countries... and also ayn rand.

low key kinda don't trust philosophy written by anyone who hasn't experienced traumatic hardship at the hands of the status quo, or from anyone who tries to downplay or lie about it. its also kinda easy to tell who is bullshitting about their hardship, especially ones preaching "bootstrap narratives" in order to sell book and speaking tours.

@Jenetrix all philosophy comes with the risk of being riddled with survivorship bias! You are wise not to trust!

@Kestenan ones that go "but look how well i did" without acknowledging the reality of the luck factor of survival and prosperity are never to be trusted. doesnt matter how good someone is or how well they do if they don't have that luck factor. these same people also tend to argue against flattening the luck factor for better equity for everyone because some of them i feel don't want to acknowledge that it exists let alone is the reason they are where they are.

@Kestenan id consider myself a philosopher if i didnt have the utmost contempt for the concept (and most thinkers) as a whole.

I guess you won't get simulated in my next assignment

(it's an intro to multi-threading with philosophers eating, thinking and sleeping, but they have to share forks when eating)

You can salvage this and absolutely spice up the framing narrative:

"4 philosophers and a very smart furry -- who denies being a philosopher -- sits down at the dinner table"

Later:

"She stands up in disgust, proclaiming her utmost contempt for philosophers and leaves. Now we have an even number of philosophers. This changes the dynamic in interesting ways."
