Hi,
I am trying to help my mom computer-shop. Where would y'all recommend looking?

She wants a mini-desktop which we can easily plug a wired keyboard, mouse, and monitor into. She is only going to use it for web browsing, email, word processing, and viewing/sorting photos.

If she gets anything other than a mac mini, I plan to install Mint on it (I already put Mint on her laptop and she is fine using it).

Aside from Amazon and the big manufacturer's websites, where should I be looking?

@2something ebay. one of the small dell optiplex sff machines or the lenovo thinkcenter equivalent. something from the last 3-4y ideally. theyre often cheap and finding spare parts to repair them is fairly easy due to companies buying and later selling entire fleets of them used. usually have very good specs for the size too.

@2something i use several of the optiplex 5050 sff machines as servers, and have one plugged into my tv as a media center pc. its frankly overkill for the task with its configuration (16gb ddr4 and 256gb m.2 ssd.) they're a bit on the older side but work well as glorified web browser machines.
