been using the iced shrimp .net for about a year now for creatures.club, and as my main account for a few days. it seems to be holding up quite well. i only have a few minor complaints but they may also just be skill issues on my part.
1) doesnt precache avatars for users whos posts show up in my feed, i need to go to the profile manually for it to start showing 2) notifications show up in weird groupings, often duplicated, and out of order. 3) in the desktop fedi client i use (sengi) it keeps malforming reply posts to not show the usernames and think the entire post is a hyperlink. (to @span@instance.tld, could be a fucked up html tag?)
is there configuration changes i can make to fix the first two? third might be a client rendering issue, idfk.
@cloudhop my uncle worked on drivers at ms during the win7 era and he fucking hated it back then too. ive never heard good things from ex ms employees about the state of windows.
@DjBRINE1 it is, but spending time building windows applications is not something i really enjoy doing. at least the linux version is released in a sane way.
